Regulators Dither Over Who-Sees-What Derivatives Question

It could take another six months before the industry gets clarity on the thorny issue of over-the-counter derivatives data-sharing, after the latest regulatory guidelines left this issue unanswered. The Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems, along with the International Organization of Securities Commissions – the body of international regulators that helps set standards for the G20 post-crisis reform agenda, last week published its latest report on requirements on OTC derivatives data-reporting and the creation of trade repositories.
