‘Conflict of interest’ Challenge for Exchanges

For years, many of the world’s exchanges have been turning themselves into publicly-traded companies by listing on their own boards. But on Thursday Norway’s securities regulator threw cold water on the concept, blocking an application by the Oslo Bors to convert itself into a listed company. The watchdog said this could “lead to conflicts of interest”.
