The Dodd-Frank law gave regulators broad new powers to protect the nation's financial system, including the authority to regulate the derivatives market, which critics say contributed to the recent financial crisis.
Gary Gensler, head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, sat down with The Wall Street Journal's Ronald Fink to discuss what effect new derivatives rules might have on nonfinancial companies and why much of the regulation won't be ready by next month's deadline.
