CFTC’s Sommers Pushes To Prioritize OTC Swaps Definitions

Jill Sommers, commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is urging the regulator to prioritize entity and contract definitions for over-the-counter derivatives swaps. In a public meeting the Commission held earlier today, Sommers expressed concern that as long as the definitions remain open, uncertainty exists in the market among participants.
