SEC Moves to Calm Fears Over Dodd-Frank Deadline

Regulators appear to have gotten the message that markets are worried about the July 16 implementation date for many new derivatives rules under the Dodd-Frank financial overhaul. The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it would soon provide guidance on how it might offer temporary relief for swap-market participants from some provisions set to kick in next month.
